I'm curious as to what everyone uses their vintage systems for. I recently got back into collecting after my 9 year old (big nerd) showed interest in some old machines I had kicking around in my garage. Aside from trying to use a TiBook running OS 9.2 to google some stuff (a failure despite using a couple of the 'modernized' classic browsers) when I left my MacBook Pro at work, I haven't done much with any of my machines after setting them up and clicking around on them for a bit before packing them away again. In the last few months I have spent waaaay too much money on buying vintage gear to build a collection but I really don't do much with any of it and in our current house, I don't have any room to display them. Don't get me wrong, I love playing with them and setting them up and upgrading them with my kids, but they get bored quickly and, frankly, so do I.

So what does everyone use theirs for? Any suggestions on how to make them a little more fun? Network games that will keep me and my kids engaged? I fire up my Apple IIe to play around with BASIC, and try new games by connecting my laptop via the super serial card (serial to USB adapter). My Macintosh Classic I bring out sometimes to play around with some old games, mess around with System 6 or 7.

But I have the same problem. I get bored too.

I would use my Powermac G4, but I'm having issues at the moment. Just posted a thread hoping to get some help. Probably just a bad video card. If I can get that thing fixed, I have a copy of The Sims I found at the thrift store for PPC Mac.

Probably going to play that as well as Warcraft 3, Diablo and Starcraft.
