I lose track of where they are on the desk and bang them into things and sometimes they go flying off the edge. A trackball stays in one place, so that's not a problem. They are great for limited spaces or to use with your laptop in bed. Only drawback is that most don't have a scroll wheel, but i can't think of a good place to put it where it wouldn't be in the way for me, so that's not really much of a drawback. Logitech is a great brand. I bought this one to replace my old one. Last one lasted 8 or 9 years.

It's still working, but the left click didn't want to hold 100% of the time anymore. I will keep it around as a backup. Yes, they are more expensive than a mouse, but totally worth it when they last that long. Bought two more of the Logitech Trackman mouse because I plumb wore out my previous one. I've taken to buying 2 at a time when I find it on sale because it's all I want and need in a mouse. There's a lot of different designs out there but I stopped looking at others once I found this design. My only complaint is that the ball sits on tiny felt pads, and with lots of use, they wear out and you need a new mouse.

But pretty much everything wears out sooner or later, so I just replace it as needed. Walmart's price was the best, and I even got free shipping so I'm totally happy and satisfied with this product.
